Club Chairman, Rod Moore, approached Kim Coster (right) to take over the running of the Ladies set-up for the 2002-03 season.  Prior to this Kim had played for Spurs Ladies, Biggleswade, Harlow, Chelmsford and Tesco Country before retiring due to injury, aged 36.  She also represented Brent County, scoring a penalty for them at Wembley. Kim would then go on to gain a UEFA B coaching badge.

Under Kim the Women and Girls set-up has grown and improved to include youth sides beginning at Under 10  through to the Development Side and the First Team.  The club has seen three promotions under Kim’s leadership.

The Blues moved into the Eastern Region Women's League, finishing as runners-up in 2013, 2015 and 2016, finally winning the title in 2018.

During the 2018-19 season Kim lead the Ladies team to a second-place finish in the FA Women's National League Division 1 South East, the Ladies highest ever league finish at the time.  The Blues also reached the third round of the Women's FA Cup for the first time, losing 4-3 at home to Loughborough Foxes.

The clubs record win of 31-0 came this season as Rayleigh Town were swept aside in the Essex Women’s Cup.  Zoe Rushen and Sam Pittuck both scored 8 goals that afternoon.  The Essex Women’s Cup was won for the first time as C&K Basildon were beaten 4-0 in the final.

Scott Chickelday was  appointed as First Team Manager for the 2020-01 season.  Only three league matches were played before the season was curtailed by Covid 19.  The team reached the third round of the Women’s FA Cup again, this time losing 3-1 at Oxford United.

Another run in the FA Cup, including a 10-0 away win at Chesham United, took the club to the fourth round for the first time.  A record crowd of 415 watched The Blues battle to a 1-1 draw with Coventry United of the Women’s Championship.  Alex Baker made a number of fine saves to keep Town in the fixture but the visitors won the penalty shoot-out.
